Coelocnemis dilaticollis Monkey Teneb

$ 4.50

Description Brand new to the website, the Coelocnemis dilaticollis Monkey Teneb is a large tenebrionidae family desert beetle that occurs on the Pacific Northwest to Montanaa and Wyoming, and south to California. They have long legs and seem to be semi-arboreal, and are a decent sized beetle, compared with many other tenebs (family tenebrionidae beetles). They remind me a little bit of the old barrel of monkeys game that your parents’ parents played with when they were kids. $5 each. One of the diagnostic features of the genus are golden hairs that line the undersides of the lower portions of their legs. You can see photos of these physical characteristics at the link below and we’ll upload photos soon. More photos and info. at Bugguide.net.
